1. I am first and foremost a mother to my 3 beautiful children and 4 step-children. In addition, I have 7 fun-loving grand-children. My husband and I have been together for 10 wonderful years. He is my best friend, partner, and most ardent supporter.
I am truly blessed!
2. I am a burn survivor. I was severely scalded when my mother left me alone in the bathtub when I was a year old. I suffered 3rd degree burns over 30% of my body and I have scars on 50% of my body. I am a volunteer with the SOAR program and I am using my platform to help promote awareness for burn survivors and to support the International Association of Burn Camps.
3. I am a Rotarian; I am currently serving as the President-Elect of the Vernal Rotary Club of Vernal, Utah. I am proud to be a Rotarian as our local Rotary Club does amazing things to help support our community as well as participating with Rotary International in world-wide service projects.
4. I am an educator. I went to Utah State University as a young single mother and I after I received my elementary education degree, I have helped to promote and support education and literacy in our community. I am a member of the Uintah Schools Foundation, where we help to raise funds to provide grants for teachers to purchase classroom supplies. I have also started a tutoring business, to provide help for struggling students.
