Barrie Lynch
1. During the weekdays, I work in technology supporting online and mobile applications. I also assist theatrical productions and fashion shows, work with an editorial photography studio as a make up artist, runway coach and mentor, design and sew for my fashion collection “Babl”, and volunteer with several charities. I am preparing for my 5th Polar Bear Plunge, and my husband, Dan, and I are training for the 2015 Tour De Patrick triple 5k Road Races.
2. Pursuing an education is very important for me, and after completing a program in Advanced Esthetics and Spa Therapy from Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. With Dan’s unequivocal support, I completed my Master’s Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Providence College.
3. Animals, fashion, and volunteerism are three of my passions. As a fashion designer, I participated in The Catwalk to Campground, a fashion show benefitting The Autism Project. I volunteer for the Smiling Stiletto Shoe Club, which fundraises for Project Smile, a charity providing emergency first responders toys for children who have experienced a traumatic event, and Bark For Life perfectly intersects my desire to volunteer and advocate for cancer research with my love for animals.
4. The American Cancer Society Bark For Life raises monies and awareness to find a cure for all forms of human cancer. Bark For Life presents an opportunity for people, empowered through their canine companion partnerships, to contribute to cancer cures through the American Cancer Society’s mission. There remains much more work to do, more research to complete, and more fundraising needed to live in a world where there is no more cancer.
