1. My relationship with God is the most important thing in my life, and I have realized how faith and putting God first is so incredibly powerful. I am blessed to have met such a wonderful husband, who has dedicated his life, as I have, caring for others. Unfortunately we have not been able to have children, but we have been so blessed with the opportunity, as nurses, to help children in need.
2. I love being an Oncology nurse! Since a young age I knew I wanted to be a nurse and receiving my Bachelors in Nursing and my National Certification (OCN) is a dream come true. I have many wonderful memories over the past 13 years helping cancer patients and their families get through the most difficult time in their lives. One of my saddest days in my life was losing my father to this terrible disease.
3. I love community service! Since 2009, I helped over 70 charities and organizations throughout the state of Florida. I was honored to receive an Outstanding Achievement Award and a day in my honor, “Teresa Sheffield Day” on June 18, 2011 from the Florida House of Representatives. By starting the “Clear Lung Foundation” and my non-smoking campaign I vow to continue to reach the community, especially the youth, about the harmful effects of smoking.
4. I love to travel! My father was in the military and I’ve had the privilege to live and visit over 30 states throughout the country. These opportunities have inspired me to explore and continue to learn about other areas throughout the world. I have had the distinct pleasure to visit and explore over 20 different countries and my favorite place so far is Monte Carlo, Monaco for its grace, elegance, and beauty.
